At present, there are around 9 million trademark applications filed, increasing by almost threefold compared to the year 2001.

The increase in trademark filing activity significantly shows the high numbers of trademark applications filed in China. The trademark office of China accounts for approximately 75% of the annual increase in global trademark filing activity, followed by Japan’s 9% growth.
